The Wild Ones 2008 Annual Meeting and Natural Landscaping Conference "In Celebration of Nature" will be held on August 22 - 24, 2008 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Hosted by national Wild Ones with the able assistance of the Fox Valley Area Chapter of Wild Ones, the conference will be held at the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton and the Wild Ones EcoCenter in the Town of Menasha (Neenah).
Keynote speaker is Neil Diboll, internationally known naturalist and owner of Prairie Nursery who will present "What's on the Horizon? The Future of Natural Landscaping in America." Other speakers include Ann Rosenberg on "Raptors - Up Close and Personal," Anita Carpenter on "Birds, Bugs and Butterflies," Connie Ramthun on "Favorite Prairie Forbs & Grasses," and David Kopitzke on "Fun Facts About Woodland Plants." Banquet speaker is Gregory Summers of University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point speaking on "Environmentalism in the Fox River Valley and the rest of the USA."
Of interest to all, there will be leadership workshops on Saturday afternoon and tours on Sunday morning.
Early Registration by July 25th: $70 member; $80 non-member
Pre-registration by August 8th: $75 member; $85 non-member
Late registration or at the door: $100 member; $110 non-member

Wild Ones is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to educate and share information with members and community at the "plants-roots" level and to promote biodiversity and environmentally sound landscaping practices through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities. Wild Ones serves as a resource for private individuals, schools, commercial property owners, and community decision makers as they move toward ethical choices in land use and in the redefinition of current guidelines and ordinances affecting our landscape.
